An ember monolith is a glowing pillar of wood, perhaps a tree stump, perhaps constructed, that is infused with ember and somehow connected to others. If you have an emberstone and enough ember essence, you can use the monolith to teleport to another zone's ember monolith or to any ember ring within the same zone. Each zone contains exactly one ember monolith.
The philosophers of the Academy have constructed a monolith in Newhaven City. They have not yet figured out how to connect it permanently to the existing monoliths; instead they have put roving ley finders in each zone.
